The five team captains each went to their schools to brainstorm ideas for their videos and fundraising efforts with the students.
The third season of Hockey Helps Kids is officially underway after it launched at D.S. MacKenzie School with the help of 600 junior high students. This year there are five team captains, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Patrick Maroon, Milan Lucic and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Voting is now open until February 16, 2017 at midnight for the second annual Hockey Helps Kids Charity Cup Challenge. Nearly 2,000 students filled the seats at Rogers Place as each team launched their video highlighting their local charities.

Oilers TV’s Jessica Kent reports after the winning school for the Charity Cup was presented with their trophy and reward for the Zebra Child Protection Centre. In addition to the trophy and prize, Killarney School (Team McDavid) was able to attend the game and participate in a ceremonial puck drop.
